Because of its location and high use, the driveway is
one of the most important features of any landscape.
Upon entering a property, large or small, the driveway
is often the first sight and offers an opportunity to
create a first impression. When designing and
constructing a driveway Nassau Suffolk Landscaping
considers the homeowner’s needs and also the driveway’s
style and relationship to both the landscape and home.
The function of a driveway plays a key roll in it’s
design, so the needs of the homeowner, whether it is
parking, access to the home, the ability to turn a car
around or a combination thereof, will determine the
driveway’s design. Proper construction, grading and
drainage are determined to prolong the driveway’s life.
The style and materials are chosen to enhance the
appearance of the driveway and entry to the home,
complimenting both the architecture and the landscape.
Many features can be incorporated into the design of
the driveway. A set of wood, brick or stone piers to
enhance the entry can be combined with fixed or
automated gates for added security or appeal.
Cobblestone curbing is often used to create a framework
for the driveway and to contain the flow of water and
drainage. Aprons or inlays are incorporated to enhance
the design at either the driveway’s entry or
throughout. Choices of materials for the driveway
include asphalt, oil and stone, cobblestone, brick or
concrete pavers, gravel or a combination of materials.
Nassau Suffolk Landscaping takes all of this into
consideration when designing and building your
driveway.
